The theme and colour help set the tone for the day and can provide both the Wedding Party or Event and all of the guests with a memorable and impressive experience. Choosing a colour scheme for a Wedding or Event is not an exact science – sure it is easy to say that lilac is a good option if you are getting married in the summer and burgundy is an ideal option for a celebration, but on the whole a colour scheme if implemented well can be suitable for any Wedding or Event, with any theme at any time of year.

So where should you start? Well first of all we would suggest that you choose one main colour (not white, ivory or black) and at possibly two other companion colours, then one metallic (gold or silver). If you are struggling to visualize what colours work well together, why not pop along to any large paint store and get hold of some paint colour charts – this will first of all help you to identify favorite colours and shades, and secondly allow you to see what colours are suitable matches. You then can take these chips with you when choosing stationary, flowers, linens etc.

Whatever you do when choosing a colour scheme, keep focused on the fact that there is not a right and a wrong answer - it’s not what colours you choose, is how well you implement them in the day’s proceedings that is most important.
